Cyber Liberia Conference

Datacharlie MSP a Liberian-owned International IT Company presents the first-ever national cybersecurity conference in Liberia is to take place on June 6th, from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm at the I-Campus on Carey Street behind B.W. Harris School in Monrovia. The conference aims to bring together all sectors of the business, educational, governmental, and private sector communities to address the status of cyber readiness in Liberia.

Why Cyber Liberia Conference?

With Liberia’s cybersecurity infrastructure lagging behind, the upcoming Liberia Cybersecurity Conference hosted by Datacharlie MSP in Monrovia presents a crucial opportunity for businesses and government agencies to address pressing vulnerabilities. In recent years, Liberia has witnessed a surge in cyber threats, ranging from phishing scams targeting individuals to sophisticated cyber-attacks on government institutions. But our government may not even have the Cyber awareness, or just refused to say it due to the fact that they may look weak etc, or  to know what has happened, so they never reports these attacks. But, these incidents not only compromise sensitive data but also undermine public trust and hinder economic development. Thus, the conference serves as a timely platform for stakeholders to collaborate, share insights, and strategize proactive measures to bolster the nation’s cyber defenses.

Participation in the conference is imperative for Liberian businesses and government agencies to gain a comprehensive understanding of emerging cybersecurity threats and best practices in safeguarding digital assets. By engaging with cybersecurity experts and industry leaders, attendees can acquire invaluable knowledge and tools to fortify their networks, mitigate risks, and respond effectively to cyber incidents. Furthermore, fostering a culture of cybersecurity awareness and collaboration is essential for Liberia to establish itself as a resilient and secure digital economy. Therefore, the Liberia Cybersecurity Conference stands as a pivotal event in empowering stakeholders to collectively tackle the challenges posed by cyber threats and pave the way for a more secure future

A New Commitment to Cybersecurity

It comes as no surprise that in recent years FSIs have seen an amplified commitment to cybersecurity. As business leaders look to new solutions, large portions of IT budgets are now devoted to leveraging data and AI to thwart cyberattacks. Furthermore, regulators are taking notice of the increased risk of cybersecurity threats. Growing geopolitical tensions have also prompted federal agencies such as the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency and the Federal Bureau of Investigation to warn that “tough sanctions imposed on Russia could prompt a spate of cyberattacks against critical infrastructure such as banks.” “how firms are safeguarding their customers’ records and assets from cyber threats, including oversight of thirdparty providers, identification of red flags related to identity theft, response to incidents, including to ransomware attacks and management of operational risk in light of ‘a dispersed workforce.’” However, as is often the case, implementing new cybersecurity strategies and processes is easier said than done. At this conference, we’ll take a closer look at the challenges associated with replacing the infrastructure of a legacy data analytics system, and how financial institutions, Governments, the privatye sectors are solving them.
